Homework #8
Due in class Friday November 9th.
- Research the literature of the falling chain problem. Resrearch the literature and split the problem into three parts 1) historical development (up to 1970's) 2) The book's treatment and the papers that it references. 3) Recent work. Divide the issues between the three of you in an amicable fashion and each presents for about 10-15 minutes on his aspect of the problem in class on Friday. The extra time is to allow time to find materials and have a chance to talk to me about what you are finding. There will be another homework of the normal kind that will overlap with this one.
