Homework #9

Due in class Friday November 9^th.

• 1) Find the centre of mass of a paraboloid of revolution z = a r² with 0 ≤ z ≤ h.
• 2) Discuss the relationship between the Helaman Ferguson sculpture in front of the atrium and Kepler's laws (see chapter 8).
• 9-10) Another exploding projectile problem.
• 9-12) Simple rocket problem.
• 9-16) Tension in the falling chain.
• 9-56) A different version of a rocket problem.
• 9-63) Starts off simply enough and then takes you back to numerical integration!
