Homework #5
Due in class Wednesday October 15th.
Problems from the book
- 6-11) To make you think about constraints. I suggest you refresh/learn the idea of Radius of Curvature.
- 7-4) These are all just problems to find a Lagrangian and poss. some equations
of motion. You never have to actually solve anything. (Good thing, esp.
for 7-10).
- 7-7)
- 7-10) A physics 100 problem!
- 7-15) Note that this can swing (let's confine it to a plane) as well as bounce.
- 7-14) Please spend some time interpretng the results. They should make
a great deal of sense and have something to say about relativity.
- 7-20) It's all in the diagram!
- 7-23) Your first chance to play with the Hamiltonian.
- 7-24) And to play some more.
