This is a place to collect links to various interesting places on the web or to tools for the class.
I start with some articles on how to study physics. Some of them were written quite a long time ago but they still contain some very good advice.
Tips for Studying Physics (1997)
The next item is a study done with Maple of the anharmonic oscillator that we studied in class on Friday of week 3. I have done a numeric solution of the motion in the potential that we built to model a molecular potential to demonstrate the nearly harmonic motion for small amplitude oscillations and the deviations at larger amplitude.
Numerical Solution of Molecular vibrations.
Then we have a set of Maple demonstrations of waves, particularly of Fourier methods for handling waves. The first two show the decomposition and re-assembly of a Fourier solution for the string plucked at the center.
Finding the Fourier Coefficients.
Then we have one that explores a travelling wave.
Travelling Gaussian by Fourier.
And lastly one that explores energy and momentum in travelling Gaussians.
