Due Wednesday September 19, at 9 AM
We return to Giancoli Chapter 3 (Vectors) so that we can conveniently work in 2 and 3 spatial dimensions. With this handy math we will describe kinematics and dynamics in 3 (spatial) + 1 (time) dimensions. The reading will be Chapters 3 and 4. The problems are on dynamics in 1+1 and on the mathematics of vectors.
(1) In an experiment a position detector is placed above a ball, which is tossed into the air at t=0. The ball doesn't reach the detector. Sketch a vs. t, v vs. t, and x vs. t for this experiment.
